This orzo is delicious.

I will watch this video on a regular basis for the rest of my life.   I can’t decide what my favorite part is - the fire truck, the expressions, or the way that the moment Jonah starts fussing Michael tells him its ok.

All of a sudden, he can look at the ice cream options all on his own, it wasn’t like that six weeks ago.

The best older brother. He isn’t so patient with us but it’s incredibly patient with Jonah. Exactly the dynamic I’d prefer.

No matter what question you ask…

We might have a little strawberry blond dude on our hands. 

Not sure who had more fun :)  This was MrSnacks’ gift to Jonah on his first birthday but we just pulled it out of the packaging.

The day he started saying this was the day that he was a snuggle bug all day. Go and play with something…come back and snuggle…crawl away and go mess with something…crawl back and snuggle.  FOR HOURS.  It was life-affirming, to say the least. 

This is how we make homemade jam in the Wall household.  He was so proud of himself! 

One of the best things about Jonah coming into our lives, beyond just the magical kiddo he is, is watching Michael become a big brother.  I swear, Michael has not once been cruel or unhappy about his brother.  He is the best big brother and has been nothing but kind and engaged and really just wanting to play with Jonah.  He loves Jonah and has from minute one without jealousy or confusion.  We didn’t teach this, this is an innate part of who Michael is and we couldn’t be more thrilled.  It is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced. And it is really just getting started….

You should always love yourself and give yourself plenty of kisses. 

Jonah kisses are pretty wonderful indeed.

We really didn’t know what we were missing until we found PDXED, Michael’s new school.  The chaos monkey used to come home spicy and irritable and he wouldn’t participate in class activities.  He used to cry every morning at drop off.  Now he literally skips into class, has started writing his name after about a week and a half, and is just blossoming.   He’s trying new foods.  He’s calmer and sleeping better.  Bah, what a relief.  

Saturday was his new school’s fundraiser, Kidchella.  It was a magical hippie wonderland.  There were unicorns, flower chain making, a dance party, an epic har ride, and sunshine.  We are so so fortunate.

So this started happening on Wed.  

MrSnacks thinks his first word was Mama a month+ ago but I actually think it was “hot” from last week.  He gets something warm or cold and says “haaa” and then tried to make a blowing sound.

But really it doesn’t matter when you have this epic cuteness.  It took many tried before I could get Michael to stop wiggling and being so loud that you couldn’t hear Jonah and also have Jonah say hi.  Modern day kid torture by their mom, but it was worth it.
